In simple terms, Ilvermorny is basically the American version of Hogwarts. One of the best looking schools as well with a magnificent castle situated on the mountains and surrounded by the “Forbidden Forest” which is home to some of the most dangerous and freighting creatures in the Wizarding World. Hogwarts has a long history behind it as it once was home to Tom Riddle or as we know him today Lord Voldemort and was the location of the second wizarding war in which the dark Lord himself attacked the school and its grounds. Located in the highlands in Scotland and founded in the 10th century the school educates young witches and wizards from all across the UK including Scotland, England, Ireland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Arguably one of the most iconic and famous wizarding schools out of the eleven which also has its past.
As well as that their previous headmaster Igor Karkaroff (former death eater) went into hiding after Lord Voldemort’s return during the triwizard tournaments which they competed in alongside Beauxbatons and Hogwarts.ĭo we really need to explain what Hogwarts is? Now here’s another one all of us should have heard of before. Some say that these are even more pesky than Peeves the poltergeist at Hogwarts. The school building is a temple like structure with a castle sitting at the top which are protected by small furry mischievous creatures known as Caipora. Founded in the 10th-11th century, the Castelobruxo school situates itself in the middle of the Amazon rainforest and takes in students from all across South America. The school’s most notable student to have ever been produced there is one of the world’s renown alchemists, Nicolas Flamel, who eventually became one of the creators of the philosophers stone.Ĭastelobruxo is a school which doesn’t get mentioned alot in the Wizarding World but certainly as its unique aspects just like every other one. The Beauxbatons school headmaster is of course the giantess Madame Maxine who took a liking to Hagrid whilst at Hogwarts for the trizawizard tournament.
As we all know, their main school rivalry is with Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry as they competed against them in the trizward tournament just before Lord Voldemort’s return. This exquisite school was founded in the pre 1920s and mainly takes in European students from countries such as France, Spain, Portugal, Netherlands, Luxembourg and Belgium. The Beauxbatons Academy of Magic is a beautiful gigantic French chateau almost resembling a fairy tale palace located in Pyrenees, France.
